my fourth interview


1-Interview preparations:
How did I approach people? When, where, and how did I conduct and record the interview?
             I conducted the interview on Friday, November 15th in the library. I went to the library to do my homework. After that, when I finished my homework I was thinking to do my fourth interview with Chinese students in the library but I did not found any Chinese student in the library can help me in fourth interview. Moreover, when I want to went to my home, I saw Wei Zherg in the third floor in the library and I was not sure if he will  do the interview with me or not because all Chinese students who I asked them were busy but let me try. After that, when I went to him and ask him if he can help me in the interview, he said to me sure no problem. Then, I asked him if I can record him or not he said that there is no problem with the recorder. Also, this is first time meeting with Wei Zherg.

Whom did I interview?
Wei Zherg is from China. He is 23 years old and he is student in Saint Cloud State University. His major is business administration . Also, he came to Saint Cloud before one year and four months ago. In addition, he is living alone in apartment close to the university. Moreover, I was comfortable when I talked with him because he was smiling and speaking clearly.
2-Describe the interview: What did surprise me?
I enjoyed in this interview because the interview was very good. Also, Wei Zherg speaks clearly when he answered all the questions. In addition, this is fourth time for me did the interview with Chinese student and it was a good experience for me.  Moreover, I learned more about Chinese culture . Also, The thing that surprised me was he want to work in United State after graduate.  
3-Country Report:
Size, location and population:
China has a large area. The total size of china is: 9,596,961 sq km. Also, location of China is “Eastern Asia, bordering the East China Sea, Korea Bay, Yellow Sea, and South China Sea, between North Korea and Vietnam”. The population of China is 1,349,585,838 in 2013.
Important information about china:-
Religion: There are many religions in China such as  Buddhist, Christian, and Islam.
The capital city: the big city in China is Beijing.
Language: there are many kind of Chinese language such as Putonghua, based, and Cantonese.
Terrains:  there are a lot of terrains in China. China has mostly mountains, high plateaus, deserts in west; plains, deltas, and hills in east.
Export: There are many things china export it like: electrical and other machinery, including data processing equipment, apparel, radio telephone handsets, textiles, integrated circuits.
Import:  electrical and other machinery, oil and mineral fuels, optical and medical equipment, metal ores, motor vehicles.
Military: the people can be in the Chinese military but between 18-24 years old. Also, there are 10,406,544 males and 9,131,990 female in the Chinese military.

Me: Hi. What is your name? where are you from?
WZ: my name is Wei Zherg and I am from China.
Me: what is your major?
WZ: My major is business administration
Me: what is your Favorite Sport?
WZ: my favorite sports are swimming, Bowling and table tennis.
Me: what do you do in your free time?
WZ: I like to watch movies and reading.
Me: what are the famous foods in your country?                
WZ: the famous food in my country is Noddle.
Me: how do you communicate with each other in your home country?
WZ: We speak Chinese with my family and my friends. Also, we can communicate each other by phones and emails.  
Me: what is the clothing style for men and  women?
WZ : the famous tradition clothing in China is Han Chinese Clothing for men and women bout the different between men style and women style.
Me: how are women and men treated differently?
WZ: I think the same here. Men and women are equal.
Me: how has your experience here helped you interpret and respect cultural differences?
WZ: American culture is very open. But Chinese culture is not open like here. Also, there is no music in the restaurant and people speak a lot but in America people do not speak a lot and they have a music in the restaurant.  . 
Me: do you enjoy speaking with other exchange students?
WZ: yes, I enjoy speaking with other international students because I want to know a lot of friends and know about their culture.  
Me: how long have you been in the United States?
WZ: I have been here one year and four months.
Me: have you been able to visit any other parts of the United States?
WZ: yes, I traveled with my friends to New York,  Florida and California last year.
 Me: what are your home country's major religions?
WZ: Buddhism is major religion.
Me: what are influenced you to come to the United States? Especially, Saint Cloud State?
WZ: I think that the open culture here influenced me and the education here is better than China. Also, I came especially to St. Cloud because there are some my friends I know them from China and St. Cloud is not expensive like a big cities.  
Me: do you have any questions for me? I have asked so many of you?
WZ: yes, what is the main religion in Saudi Arabia?
Me: the main religion in Saudi Arabia is Islam.
Me: ok do you have any other questions?
WZ: no thanks

1-Interview preparations:
How did I approach people? When, where, and how did I conduct and record the interview?
             I conducted the interview on Friday, November 8th  in the Atwood. I went to the Atwood to do my third interview with Chinese students. When I was looking for Chinese students to do the interview in the Atwood, because I did not found any Chinese student in the library can help me in third interview. Moreover, I saw Timothy in the coffee in the Atwood and I was not sure if he will  do the interview with me or not but let me try. Also, when I went to him and ask him if he can help me in the interview, he said to me Ok. Then, I asked him if I can record him or not he said that there is no problem with the recorder. Also, this is first time meeting with Timothy.

Whom did I interview?
Timothy is from China. He is 22 years old and he is student in Saint Cloud State University. He is studying a double major his majors are Computer science & Art . Me: Hi. What is your name? where are you from?
Timothy: my name is Timothy and I am from China.
Me: what is your major?
Timothy: I studying double major. My majors are Computer science & Art
Me: what is your Favorite Sport?
Timothy: my favorite sports are pin pang, skating, riding bicycle, and swimming.
Me: what do you do in your free time?
Timothy : take some pictures, go to gym, and watch some movies in the weekend.
Me: what are the famous foods in your country?
Timothy: there are many famous foods in my country but  the popular and famous foods in my country are Beef noddioe and Dumplings.
Me: how do you communicate with each other in your home country?
Timothy: people can communicate each other by social activities. Also, I think it is very similar like American there is no different. But there is different in China between a big city and small city. The big city is very open and there are everything but in the small city it is not close to the big city and there is no cell phones in some small cities because it is poor. But in my city people can communicate each other by cell phones, network, message, email, Facebook, and Chinese twitter.  
Me: what is the clothing style for men and  women?
Timothy: the tradition clothing style for men and women is Han Chinese Clothing.
Me: how are women and men treated differently?
Timothy: I think is no different between men and women in China. The culture maybe in the past is different like a man control a woman. But now they are equal.
Me: how has your experience here helped you interpret and respect cultural differences?
Timothy: American culture is very open. Also I the American culture is mix by a lot of different cultures from all of the world.  Moreover, the main reason  and the main experience is American really open. 
Me: do you enjoy speaking with other exchange students?
Timothy: yes, I enjoy speaking with other students because we can share our cultures and our experiences.  
Me: how long have you been in the United States?
Timothy: I have been here one year and three months.
Me: have you been able to visit any other parts of the United States?
Timothy: yes, I traveled  a lot. I went to Chicago, Seattle, Washington, New York, California, and Texas. And I will travel to Florida and some other countries in the Christmas.
Me: what are your home country's major religions?
Timothy: the main religion in China is Buddhism.
Me: what are influenced you to come to the United States? Especially, Saint Cloud State?
Timothy: I think is open culture and we gone learn a lot of knowledge from  here. Also, there are a lot of things support you to work or study here because of that I choose the United State. In addition, I came especially to St. Cloud because it is not a big city that is important for me. Also the people here in Minnesota are friendly.
Me: do you have any questions for me? I have asked so many of you?
timothy: No.
