My First Interview with Quing
1-Interview preparations:
How did I approach people? When, where,
and how did I conduct and record the interview?
I conducted the
interview on Sunday, October 20th in the library. This is first time
I did interview whit chines Students especially with Quing. When I was looking
for international students to do the interview in the library, I saw Quing in
the first floor I was not sure if he will do the interview with me or not but let me
try. When I went to him and ask him if he can help me in the interview, he said
to me sounds good. Then, I asked him if I can record him or not he said that there
is no problem with the recorder.
Whom did I interview?
Quing is from China, he is 22 years old and he is student in Saint
Cloud State University. His major is Computer Since. Also, he came to Saint
Cloud three years ago. In addition, he is living with his friends in apartment.
Moreover, I was comfortable when I talked with him because he was smiling and
speaking clearly.
2-Describe the interview: What did surprise me?
I enjoyed in this interview because the interview was very good.
Also, Quing speaks clearly when he answered all the questions. In addition,
this is first time for me did the interview with Chinese student and it was a
good experience. Moreover, I learned
many things about Chinese culture . Also, The thing that surprised me was most Chinese families should eat at least one meal
together daily.
3-Country Report:
Size, location and population:
China
has a large area. The total size of china is: 9,596,961 sq km. Also, location
of China is “Eastern Asia, bordering the East China Sea, Korea Bay, Yellow Sea, and
South China Sea, between North Korea and Vietnam”. The population of China is 1,349,585,838 in
2013.
Important information about china:-
Religion: Buddhist, Christian, and
Islam.
The capital city: Beijing
Language: there are many kind of
Chinese language such as Putonghua, based, and Cantonese.
China has mostly mountains, high plateaus,
deserts in west; plains, deltas, and hills in east
Export: electrical and other machinery, including
data processing equipment, apparel, radio telephone handsets, textiles,
integrated circuits
Import: electrical
and other machinery, oil and mineral fuels, optical and medical equipment,
metal ores, motor vehicles
Military: person between 18-24
years old can be in the Chinese military. There are 10,406,544 males and 9,131,990 female in the military.

Quing: the popular
and famous food in my country is Noodle.

Quing: speak
together by our language.

clothing style for men and women?
Quing: men wear t
shirts and suits but women wear Skirts.
Me: how are women and
men treated differently?
Quing: usually are
equal.
Me: how has your experience
here helped you interpret and respect cultural differences?
Quing: there are
many differences between Chinese people and American people. American people open
minded but sometimes Chinese people conservative. Also, American people like
talking but Chinese people are shy. In addition, I respect all cultures.
Me: do you enjoy
speaking with other exchange students?
Quing: yes, I enjoy
speaking with other students to know more about their traditions and cultures.
Me: how long have
you been in the United States?
Quing: I have been
here 3 years ago.
Me: have you been
able to visit any other parts of the United States?
Quing: no, because I
do not have time but maybe in next Christmas I will visit many countries in United States.
Me: what are your home country's major religions?
Quing: the main religion in China is Buddhism.
Me: what are influenced you to come to the United States? Especially, Saint
Cloud State?
Quing: I came here to Saint Cloud State
because there are many Chinese friends here and Saint Cloud not expensive.
Me: do you have any questions for me? I have asked so many of you?
Quing: yes, what is your major?
Me: my major is Finance.
Quing: what is your plan after graduate?
Me: I will back to my country and I will work there.
Quing: thank you.
